JONATHAN RAMIREZ GARCIA

Jonathan Ramirez Garcia is a  Mexican/American artist, songwriter, producer, born in Tijuana, Mexico.  At the age of 11 his family migrated to United States where he continued his studies. Since he was young, Jonathan gravitated towards music, learning how to play guitar and being a member of a gospel choir at Good Samaritan Church.  However it was not until he met Yvonne Sanchez as destiny should have it that his music would become more prevalent in his life.

Fast forward to 2007, Yvonne Sanchez is under contract with Warner Music and asks Jonathan to cooperate as an Executive Producer and the songwriting process begins. After a year of hard work, Warner Music releases “My Garden” an all original Record which reaches gold within its first year of release including music nominations in the categories of “Jazz Album of the Year” and “Album of the Year”.  Jonathan also cooperated with other artists ranging in Jazz, Funk, Bossa Nova, Salsa as a producer/recording artist/lyricist.

Jonathan currently is a member of several projects including his own which he named “SKEPTIMISTIC” (half skeptic half optimistic). This repertoire is all composed/arranged by Jonathan including lyric which is an important element for him, as he writes about his own life experiences just as his latest composition entitled “I.C.U.” (intensive care unit) dedicated to the faculty of Spondylochirurgie at Motol Hospital, as well as for family and close friends after a major back surgery he underwent last April of 2023. In his compositions you can hear musical layers ranging from a fusion of Jazz/Latin/Hip Hop/NeoSoul/Folk. Jonathan Ramirez and SKEPTIMISTIC perform regularly in the Prague music scene including Festival/Club performances. This project is preparing to record their first album in 2024.
